Katrina has spent 15+ years exploring the content world, from technical writing and UX writing to copywriting, marketing and blogging. She’s found her true passion in content strategy and feels lucky to be sharing it with students at UW today.
Katrina believes quality user experience comes from building a foundation of understanding about the customers’ needs and problems to solve. She couldn’t be happier than when she is assembling qualitative and quantitative insights in a content audit or writing a test plan to optimize content within a user flow. With a background in technology that ranges from large corporation (Microsoft, Facebook, HBO) to startup environment (Redfin, Avvo, A9), she enjoys applying lean UX or agile methods to her content strategy work.
Katrina has a bachelor of arts in English Literature and certifications in both Technical Communications and Front End Development. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, jigsaw puzzles and attending anything to do with the arts, including classical concerts, dramatic theater and gallery walks.
