Communication Leadership was recognized as the top credit program in the entire Western United States!
The award comes from the University Professional and Continuing Education Association, and celebrates the program’s response to recent crises and its service to students and the broader community.
“What makes our program unique is that we avoid a transactional approach, in favor of one that focuses on cultivating and empowering a global community of students, staff, faculty and alumni,” Comm Lead Director Dr. Ekin Yasin said in a recorded acceptance speech. “We strive to build a community that cares, listens and responds.”
The award comes as Comm Lead celebrates its 20th academic year, and welcomes one of its largest, and most diverse, cohorts of students ever.
Representatives of UW’s Continuum College initially nominated Comm Lead for the award out of over 50 other credit-bearing professional and continuing education programs at the University. Based on that nomination, UPCEA judges then selected Comm Lead as “Outstanding Credit Program” for the West Region.
UPCEA is the leading association for professional, continuing, and online education, which serves most of the leading public and private colleges and universities in North America. The award will be officially unveiled during the Regions Week Conference from October 18-24.
Congratulations Comm Lead!
